Stories to make you laugh, say awww, and ewww...

Because my posts are few and far between, I seem to forget the funny stories that make up our days. Well I have to post about last night, Robbie will not like that this story is going to be forever sent out to the web-a-sphere and may one day come back to him. But it is certainly blog worthy. First, those of you who do not know Mike is a very big sleep walker. He coaches soccer games, rescues dogs from evil forces, and fights in along the Beaches of Normandy very regularly in our house. So I am not surprised that Robbie has a tendency to wander around the house, or wake up very confused. Last night I went into his room to give him a kiss before I went to bed. I realized I’d forgotten to do something in the kitchen and turned out of his room, but I left the door open by accident. The light must have disturbed him as I heard him get up out of bed and slam the door shut. I thought I’d let him settle himself back in his bed before I went back in. So standing in the hallway with my ear to the door I waited… then much to my shock I didn’t hear Robbie stumble back into bed, nope what I heard was the sound of a little, sleeping boy, pee-ing on his door. And he pee-ed and pee-ed and pee-ed. I couldn’t open the door for fear of hitting him with it, so I had to wait until he was finished. I tried my very best to not laugh out loud, and believe me that was difficult. When I went in, poor Robbie was all confused and didn’t know what was going on. He had taken off his pants, because those had gotten wet, he was sitting on his train table curled in a little ball with his skinny legs and big feet tucked up to his belly. I got him dressed in some dry pants and tucked him back up into bed. I am torn between the humor in the sound of liquid hitting the back of the door, and the sad site of him confused and not knowing what was happening. I’ve not reminded him of it, nor have I mentioned it within ear shot of Charlotte. Are you kidding, something like that is ammunition for a big sister, and years of torture for a little brother. So right now, it is just our little secret.

Oh, and how about this for a Smooth Move moment. Since Mike has started his job downtown we have been struggling on what to do with Colonel. Mike is not willing to get up and take him for a walk early in the morning before the kids get up and I struggle to get him out after work as that is the witching hour and the kids are not very cooperative at that time. So Mike takes him downtown each day, Colonel sits in the car all morning, and Mike goes to get him at lunch for a walk. Cruel? I don’t know, not really up to me. I do chuckle when I suggest that it is cruel to lock a dog in the car all day, and Mike tells me that Colonel is happier in the car than at home. I don’t know how people know what dogs think? Anyway last week, Colonel was sick in the night. He must have gotten into someone’s garbage and made his stomach ill. The next morning, out of habit, Mike took Colonel downtown with him. Keep in mind I was home recovery and easily could have opened the door and sent him outside. But no, Mike wanted to take him for a run, so off they went. When Mike went to the car, he discovered that Colonel had had diarrhea all over the seats. And not just the seat but down the hole where the seatbelts go. YUCK!!! He has done a fantastic job cleaning it up and after days of Charlotte breathing into her mitten, she is our odor gauge, the car is at an acceptable level of stink. Well spring is just around the corner and then comes summer, so we will have to decided very quickly what we are going to do with Colonel as he cannot sit in a car during the summer. It will also be a true test of how well the car has been cleaned… ewww imagine, summer, humidity and that smell. No Thank You!

Still no computer… photos will come as soon as that arrives.
